Vk Documents //top\\
1. What are VK Documents?
VKontakte has a built-in document hosting service similar to Google Drive or Dropbox, but with a strong social discovery aspect. Users can upload, store, and share documents (PDF, DOC, XLS, PPT, TXT, etc.) publicly or privately.
4. Granular Privacy & Link Sharing
- Visibility per file – Only me, Friends only, Friends of friends, Everyone (public link).
- Public link generation – Anyone with the link can view/download (no VK account needed for viewing).
Great for landing pages, resumes, or public resources.
- Revoke links anytime – Security control after sharing.
Key Characteristics:
- Persistent Storage: Files uploaded here remain forever unless you delete them. They do not disappear after a message is erased.
- Cross-Platform Sync: Access your files from the VK website, the mobile app (iOS/Android), or the VK Messenger desktop client.
- Format Agnostic: Unlike some social networks that limit images or video, VK Documents supports PDFs, archives (ZIP/RAR), spreadsheets (XLSX), presentations (PPTX), text files (TXT/DOC), and even executable files (though with strict virus scans).
Advanced Features: Beyond Simple Storage
2. Generous Free Quota (Regional Advantage)
- Standard free limit – Up to 5,000 files (not size-based but file-count based, with per-file ≤200 MB).
For most users, 5k documents ≈ several years of everyday sharing.
- Paid/VK Combo – Expands to 50,000+ files, plus higher per-file limit (up to 4 GB).
Uploading to Chats and Groups
