Rk Android Tool V2.3.9 May 2026
RK Android Tool v2.3.9 — Release Write-up
Future of RK Android Tool
Rockchip has been gradually replacing the legacy Windows tools with a new unified RKDevTool (version 3.x) that supports both Linux and Windows via a GUI written in Qt. However, as of 2025, v2.3.9 remains relevant because:
- Newer tools require .NET 6.0 or newer, which bloats the distribution.
- Legacy hardware (RK3188, RK3066) is not fully supported in v3.x.
- The simple, no-nonsense interface of v2.3.9 requires no learning curve.
That said, for the latest RK3588 devices with PCIe/NVMe storage, you should try RKDevTool v3.1 first.
Step 4: Load the Firmware
- In the tool, click the "..." or "Firmware" button.
- Navigate to the firmware
.img file you downloaded for your device.
- Once loaded, you will see the file path populate in the tool.
Step 2: Install Rockchip USB Drivers
The tool cannot communicate with your device without proper drivers. rk android tool v2.3.9
