Introduction If you thought Darkest Dungeon was stressful or XCOM was punishing, you haven’t stepped into the world of Rise of Corruption. Whether you are tackling the notoriously difficult modification for Mount & Blade: Warband or the indie RPG of the same name, one truth remains universal: the game does not want you to win.
Rise of Corruption is not about overcoming the odds; it is about managing the inevitable decay of your resources, morale, and sanity. This is a game where a single missed click can lead to a party wipe, and where the "corruption" isn't just a storyline—it’s a mechanical countdown to your doom. rise of corruption walkthrough

Mandatory encounter: Detective Mira Chen arrests you during a routine sweep. She doesn’t recognize you (you’ve grown a beard, changed your voice). Interrogation scene.
Choices:
- Lawyer up – Safe, but Mira flags you as suspicious.
- Flirt – +5 Corruption, but Mira sees through it. Lowers Reputation.
- Give fake information about the Rossi family – +10 Control, +5 Corruption. Mira releases you, and a rival family takes a hit.
Walkthrough choice: Fake information – You name a minor Rossi drug den. Mira raids it that night. Elena Rossi (your ex) is furious but doesn’t know it was you yet. This creates a three-way tension: Serena is pleased, Mira is misled, and Elena is now hunting an informant.
Important: Visit Elena’s apartment later (disguised). You overhear her crying. Do NOT reveal yourself. Instead, leave an anonymous envelope with evidence of who framed you two years ago (this requires a Control check > 40 – if you’ve been following the guide, you’re at Control 35 by now, so you need a minor boost). Act 1: New Beginnings
Boost Control: Go to the Black Market (Bazaar district). Buy “Blackmail file on city councilman” for $5,000. Use it to force a zoning change that benefits Serena. +10 Control.
