Basic Rentry Syntax

3.1 Creating an Entry

  1. Navigate to rentry.co.
  2. Enter the desired content (Markdown supported).
  3. Define a custom URL (optional) or let the system generate a random ID.
  4. Define an Edit Code: The user inputs a secret phrase.
  5. Upon submission, the entry is created.

Q: What if someone guesses my edit code?

A: Extremely unlikely. Edit codes are randomly generated strings with high entropy (combination of letters, numbers, and symbols). Brute-forcing one is computationally infeasible.

1. What "rentry.co edit code" refers to

2. Collaborative Writing (The "Shared Key" Method)

While Rentry does not have Google Docs-style real-time collaboration, two people can edit the same page if they share the edit code.

Scenario C: You are using the wrong code after an edit.

Remember: editing a page generates a new code. If you edited yesterday and saved the "old" code in your notes, today you have the wrong key.
