Receptionist at the Bottom Tier Guild -v1.10-

Employee Handbook: The Bottom Tier Guild

Welcome to the Guild! (Please don't let the door fall off its hinges on your way in.)

As the new Receptionist, you are the face of our organization. Since our budget is low and our adventurer quality is... variable, your role is critical. Please follow these guidelines to ensure the guild survives another fiscal quarter.

The Premise (You Are the Trash Can)

For the uninitiated, you play as Elara, a mid-level clerical worker who gets demoted to the "Bottom Tier Guild"—affectionately nicknamed "The Graveyard" by locals. This is not the guild where heroes save the world. This is where washed-up adventurers come to die, argue over reward splits, or try to register a "cursed heirloom" for insurance purposes. Receptionist at the Bottom Tier Guild -v1.10- -...

Version 1.10 doesn’t change this bleak premise. Instead, it leans in.

The Receptionist's Impact

Despite the challenges, a skilled receptionist can significantly impact a guild's operations and reputation. They can: Receptionist at the Bottom Tier Guild -v1

  • Streamline Operations: Efficient management of quests, member data, and resources can help a guild operate smoothly, even with limited staff.
  • Foster a Positive Guild Culture: By ensuring that every interaction with the guild is positive, a receptionist can help build a strong, supportive community.
  • Innovate and Adapt: In a bottom-tier guild, innovation and adaptability are key to survival. A proactive receptionist might implement new systems or services that help the guild stand out or improve its standing.

2. Adventurer Loyalty System (Formerly "Morale")

The old Morale system was easy to cheese (buy rounds of ale = +10 morale). The new Loyalty system is tiered:

  • Tier 0 (Indifferent): They’ll abandon your quest mid-run.
  • Tier 1 (Reluctant): They finish quests but steal 10% of rewards.
  • Tier 2 (Trusting): They actually pay their tab. (New in v1.10)
  • Tier 3 (Devoted): Unlocks hidden "Last Stand" abilities.

To reach Tier 2, you must remember each adventurer’s backstory and respond correctly during the Evening Confessionals. Ignore them? They quit. Over-praise them? They get arrogant and start bar fights. To reach Tier 2

4. New Difficulty: "Desk Jockey"

Veterans complained the game was too easy. The new Desk Jockey mode introduces:

  • Paper Jam events (real-time button mashing to save your quest log).
  • The Regional Inspector: A recurring boss who checks your filing accuracy. Miss three deadlines? Your guild is shuttered permanently.
