Offline Activation Acronis Cyber Protect 15

Here’s a useful, practical write-up on Offline Activation for Acronis Cyber Protect 15.

For Windows Agent (Standalone)

1. Install Acronis Cyber Protect 15 Agent on the offline machine.
2. Open Acronis Agent (system tray icon → Configure).
3. Go to License and select Offline activation.
4. Save the .req file.
5. Use the same portal as above to generate a .lic file.
6. Import the .lic file into the Agent.

Error 3: “Portal says serial not found”

Cause: Your license is subscription-only and doesn’t support offline activation.
Fix: Convert your license at the reseller or purchase an offline-capable SKU. Alternatively, set up a tiny Windows VM with internet for one-time online activation, then move the VM offline.

3.1 On the Offline Machine (Acronis License Server)

1. Open Acronis License Server Management Console (usually https://<licenseserver>:8081).
2. Navigate to License Management → Activate License.
3. Choose Offline Activation.
4. Click Generate Activation Request.
5. Save the .req file (e.g., activation_request.req) to a USB drive.

4. Activating Agents Offline

Agents (Windows/Linux) communicate with the License Server.
If agents cannot reach the License Server due to network isolation:

1. On each agent machine, run:

   acronis_agent --activate-offline --license-server <IP> --license-key <key>
   

   or use the Acronis Agent Management Tool → Import license file.

2. Alternatively, export license from License Server:

   acronis_license_server --export-license --output license.lic
   

   Copy to agent → import via:

   acronis_license_server --import-license license.lic
