Motorola Gp 868 Programming Software //free\\

Here is the important information regarding this specific model and its software:

Step 6: Write Back to the Radio

  1. Press F8 – Program Radio (or similar).
  2. Confirm “Are you sure?” – the radio will “clunk” again.
  3. Wait for the “Programming Successful” message. Do not power off during this process.

Steps to program

  1. Install the USB-serial driver for your cable.
  2. Install the programming software (run as Administrator if needed).
  3. Connect the GP868 to your PC using the programming cable and turn the radio on.
  4. Open CPS and select the correct COM port.
  5. Read the radio’s current codeplug (use “Read” or “Read From Radio”).
  6. Modify channels, frequencies, power settings, CTCSS/DCS, PL tones, and channel names as required.
  7. Validate/scan for frequency conflicts and regulatory-compliant settings.
  8. Write the updated codeplug back to the radio (“Write” or “Write To Radio”).
  9. Verify settings on the radio and perform a test call.

Step 4: Read the Radio

  1. From the main menu, choose F2 – Read Radio.
  2. RSS will attempt to connect. If successful, you’ll hear a “clunk” from the radio (internal relay). The channel data will populate on screen.
  3. Troubleshooting: If you get “Communication Error” or “Radio Not Detected”:
    • Check the RIB battery (replace with fresh 9V).
    • Ensure the radio is powered ON.
    • Slow down your CPU. Use MOSLO (Mo’Slo) utility to throttle cycles: MOSLO /2 GP868.exe.
    • Verify your COM port address (IRQ conflicts are common).
