Note to the reader: This device was released in 2013. It did not receive official updates past Android 4.4 KitKat. This post focuses on how to get modern apps running via custom firmware (LineageOS).


Post-Update Tweaks

Once you boot into Android 7.1:

Steps (high-level)

  1. Search XDA for “Lenovo Yoga 8 B8000-F custom ROM” – available ROMs include: lenovo b8000-f android update

    • CyanogenMod 12.1 / 13 (Android 5.1 / 6.0)
    • LineageOS 14.1 (Android 7.1)
    • AOSP 9.0 (unofficial, may have bugs)
  2. Install USB drivers for Lenovo B8000-F (or use generic ADB drivers).

  3. Flash TWRP using SP Flash Tool or fastboot (requires bootloader unlock). Note to the reader: This device was released in 2013
