QuantV is one of the most popular graphics mods for GTA V, known for its stunning visual enhancements. However, due to its heavy resource usage, conflicts with other mods, or performance issues, you may decide to remove it.
Since QuantV Portable is designed as a "no-install" package (it runs from a dedicated folder), it does not appear in your Windows "Add or Remove Programs" list. Simply deleting the folder is often not enough, as it injects files into your main GTA V directory and creates cache files elsewhere.
Below is the definitive method to scrub QuantV Portable from your system safely.
If you downloaded QuantV Portable as a standalone zip file and extracted it to a folder (like your Desktop or a generic "Games" folder), follow these steps:
Locate the Installation Folder:
Navigate to the folder where you extracted QuantV. If you cannot find it, try searching for QuantV.exe or QuantV.ini in your Windows search bar.
Verify the Game is Closed: Ensure GTA V is not running. If the game is currently using QuantV files, Windows will prevent you from deleting them.
Delete the Folder: Once located, right-click the main QuantV folder and select Delete.
Some repacks of QuantV Portable include an Uninstall.exe inside the GTA V folder. If you see it:
Uninstall.exe as Administrator.A: The legitimate version does not. However, many "cracked" or "modified" portable versions of media players do contain adware or miners. If you suspect malware, run a scan with Malwarebytes after uninstalling.
