Identify exact model & firmware type

On the phone: Settings > About phone — note Model number, Build number, Android version, EMUI/Magic UI version, and region/carrier.
Determine firmware format:
- Stock OTA update / update.app (recovery) — typical for Honor/Huawei.
- Full factory firmware package (dload/update.app).
- Fastboot images (boot.img, system.img) for fastboot flashing.
- Qualcomm platform files (if device uses Qualcomm and you need EDL tools).

Using HiSuite (official PC tool)

Install HiSuite on PC, connect phone via USB.
In HiSuite, choose System Update or Recovery update depending on options.
Follow on-screen prompts. HiSuite can download and install official firmware.

3. The "No Update Found" Fix

If your friend got the update but you didn't: On the phone: Settings > About phone —

Go to Software Update > Tap the three dots (⋮) in the top right.
Select "Full update package" (This forces a re-check).
Restart your phone and check again.
