This guide covers what the program is, its key functions, how to use it, and critical safety warnings.

3. Compatibility and OS Requirements

  • Supported Models: Epson Stylus TX300F, Epson Stylus Office BX300F.
  • Operating Systems: Most older versions of the program run natively on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 10.
    • Note: Windows 11 may require running the program in "Compatibility Mode" (Windows 7) and running as Administrator.
    • Mac OS: Native Mac versions are rare; Mac users typically use a Windows virtual machine (like Parallels or Bootcamp).

E. USB ID Check

Used to read the printer's serial number and USB connection status to ensure the computer is communicating correctly with the device.

Final Word & Alternatives

The Epson TX300F BX300F Service Adjustment Program is a powerful, unofficial key to extending the life of a legacy printer. Used with caution and combined with physical pad maintenance, it can give you another 10,000 pages of service.

If you feel unsafe, consider these alternatives:

  1. Professional reset: Local repair shops charge $25–$40 for this reset.
  2. Epson’s official service: Typically $80–$120+ (uneconomical for this printer).
  3. Replace the printer: A new Epson EcoTank (without cartridges) costs $200–$300 and never needs this reset process because it uses a user-replaceable maintenance box.

For those who press on: backup your EEPROM first if your adjustment program has a “Backup” button. Treat the tool with respect. And when the printer finally dies from a mechanical failure, recycle it properly.
