If you own an Epson L3060 printer, you may eventually encounter a dreaded error message on your computer or the printer’s status monitor: “A printer’s ink pad is nearing the end of its service life. Please contact Epson Support.” or simply “Service Required.” This is often accompanied by blinking lights on the printer’s control panel, preventing any further printing.
This message refers to the printer’s waste ink pad—a sponge-like component inside the machine that absorbs excess ink used during print head cleaning cycles. To prevent ink from leaking out of the printer, Epson designed a counter that tracks how much ink the pads have absorbed. Once this counter reaches a pre-set limit, the printer locks down.
This is where the Epson L3060 Ink Pad Reset Utility comes in. epson ink pad reset utility l3060 full

Resetting works only in Service Mode. Here’s how:
If you fail, power off and try again. Timing is precise. Turn off your printer
This is the most important piece of information for any L3060 owner: Resetting the counter does not physically clean the ink pad.
If you use the reset utility, you are essentially telling the printer, "The pad is empty, start counting again." However, the physical pad is still saturated with ink.
If you reset the counter multiple times without addressing the physical pad, you are inviting disaster. Eventually, the pad will hold no more liquid, and the waste ink will have nowhere to go but out—usually leaking from the bottom of the printer and ruining surfaces.
