La Chilindrina wins a trip to Acapulco in a raffle. Not wanting to be left out, Doña Florinda, Quico, and Don Ramón decide to go as well. Seeing Chavo's sadness at being left behind, Señor Barriga invites him along as his guest.
The "vecindad" arrives at the hotel. Much of the comedy stems from the characters attempting to maintain their neighborhood dynamics (and rivalries) in a luxury resort setting.
The vacation concludes with a sentimental beach bonfire scene where the cast sings "Buenas Noches Vecindad," a moment often cited by fans as the most emotional in the series' history.
