Historically, CLEVO used an open FTP (ftp.clevo.com.tw). It is now restricted. Some IPs from Taiwan can still access. Unless you have a direct reseller login, stick with your SI.

Step 5: After the Update – Reset & Reconfigure

Once the update finishes and you boot into Windows, do not assume everything is perfect yet.

  1. Enter BIOS (F2): Immediately after the flashing process completes, go into BIOS.
  2. “Load Optimized Defaults”: Find this option and press Enter. This clears any residual, incompatible settings from the old BIOS.
  3. Save & Exit: Re-apply any personal settings (e.g., fan curves, boot order, disabling Secure Boot if needed).
  4. Boot to Windows: Let Windows detect any new ACPI or hardware changes.

How to Force BIOS Recovery (InsydeH2O BIOS):

  1. Name the BIOS file exactly bios.bin and copy to a FAT32 USB drive.
  2. Unplug AC and remove battery.
  3. Insert the USB into a USB 2.0 port (black plastic, not blue).
  4. Press and hold: Fn + B (for most Clevo) OR Ctrl + Home.
  5. While holding, plug in AC power.
  6. Release the keys after 10 seconds. The power LED should blink slowly.
  7. Wait 5–10 minutes. The laptop will reboot automatically.

If the above fails: Try Win + B or Fn + Esc. Check your specific CLEVO maintenance manual (search for “Crisis Disk”). Option C: The Official, but Circumstantial, CLEVO FTP
