5. Operating System Installation

Step 2: RAM Installation

The ASUS H81M-K has two DIMM slots supporting Dual-Channel architecture.
For 2 sticks: Insert into Slot A1 (black) and Slot B1 (brown) for dual channel.
For 1 stick: Use Slot A1 (closest to CPU) for single channel.
Push down until the retention clips click shut.

C. Setting Fan Curves (Q-Fan Control)

This board supports ASUS Q-Fan for quieter operation.

Go to Advanced Mode > Monitor tab.
Scroll down to Q-Fan Control.
Select the CPU Fan.
Choose a profile: Silent (for office work) or Standard (balanced). This prevents the CPU fan from ramping up and down annoyingly.

For Windows 7 (Legacy)

Use Windows 7 USB Tool to slipstream USB 3.0 drivers. The H81M-K natively supports Windows 7 but lacks built-in USB 3.0 drivers for installation.
