Micro Au6989sn-gtc Software: Alcor
This controller is most commonly found in budget USB 2.0 flash drives, fake capacity drives, and generic promotional USB sticks.
Drive still shows 0 bytes after success
- Cause: Windows retained the old partition table.
- Fix: Open DiskPart as Admin. Type
list disk, select your USB disk, type clean, then exit. Close DiskPart and reinitialize the drive.
Alternative Tools
- ChipGenius – To verify controller and flash ID
- CheckUDisk – Lightweight info tool
- HDD Low Level Format Tool – Basic wipe (but won't fix bad blocks)
Step 5: Post-Processing
- Close the Alcor MP tool.
- Unplug the USB drive.
- Plug it back in. Windows should detect a fresh, fully-capacity drive ready for formatting via Disk Management.
