3dsident Qr Code -

Here’s a detailed write-up on 3DSIdent and its QR code usage.

Prerequisites

  • A 3DS family console with custom firmware (CFW) already installed (Luma3DS + boot9strap).
The QR code method does NOT work on a stock, unhacked 3DS for homebrew installation.
  • The console must have an active internet connection.
  • A QR code image of the 3DSIdent .cia file (or its download location).

FBI Doesn’t Have a “Scan QR Code” Option

  • Cause: You are using a very old version of FBI.
  • Fix: Update FBI to the latest version (typically 2.6.0 or higher) using the universal updater or manual CIA install.

Where to Find a Working 3DSIdent QR Code

  • Official GitHub repository – Search “joel16/3DSIdent” on GitHub. Look under “Releases” for the .cia download, then use a QR code generator (online or via a tool) to turn that direct link into a QR code.
  • Homebrew index sites – Some sites like 3ds.hacks.guide or universal-db.com provide ready-made QR codes.
  • Precautions – Never scan random QR codes from unverified forums. A malicious QR could point to a dangerous .cia file. Always verify the source.

Because QR codes can expire (if the hosting link changes or the service goes down), many advanced users prefer to manually download the .cia and place it on the SD card instead. 3dsident qr code

Step 5 – Download and Install

FBI will download the .cia file directly from the internet. Once the download finishes, it will automatically proceed to install it to your console’s SD card (or NAND if selected). After completion, you will see a “Success” message. Here’s a detailed write-up on 3DSIdent and its

Press (A) to exit. The new 3DSident icon will now appear on your 3DS home menu, typically immediately after installation. Prerequisites

What Is 3DSIdent?

3DSIdent is a homebrew application for the Nintendo 3DS that displays detailed system information, such as:

  • Console model & region
  • Firmware version
  • Screen type (TN vs. IPS)
  • WiFi MAC address
  • SD card details
  • Battery status
  • CPU speed, etc.

It’s commonly used by buyers to verify a console’s specifications, especially when checking for IPS screens or region information.

Important Notes

  • Don’t scan random QR codes from untrusted sources — they could install malicious .cia files.
  • Always get the QR code from the official GitHub repository or Universal-DB.
  • No QR code? You can manually download the .cia from GitHub and install it via FBI’s “SD card” option.
